Grocely
Terms of service
Effective 17 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Axiom Studios of 2 Park Avenue, NW11 7SJ, London ("Grocely", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your account and your use of the Grocely iOS app and related services.
Contact: support@axiomstudios.org
Please read these terms before using Grocely. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Grocely.
1. Who may use Grocely
You must be at least 13 years old to use Grocely. If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian to approve these terms, you may use Grocely only with that approval.
You may use Grocely only for personal and household purposes. You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
2. Your account
You can create and access a Grocely account with Sign in with Apple or with an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and device secure and for activity carried out through your Grocely account. Tell us promptly at support@axiomstudios.org if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
Give us accurate information and keep it current. You may not create an account for someone else without their permission or use Grocely if we previously closed your account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
You can delete your account through Settings > Danger zone > Delete account. Please see our privacy policy for details about deletion and data retention.
3. What Grocely does
Grocely uses automated systems to create meal plans, recipes and shopping lists from the preferences you provide. It searches available supermarket product information to estimate the products, quantities and cost of a weekly shop. Automated results can be incomplete or wrong, so review them before relying on them.
We may update the app and service to fix faults, improve performance, meet legal or security requirements, or change its functions. We will give reasonable notice if a change materially reduces the service available to you, unless an urgent legal or security issue prevents advance notice.
We do not promise that Grocely will always be available or error-free. Maintenance, supplier failures and events outside our reasonable control can interrupt the service. This does not affect any rights that the law gives you.
4. Prices, products and availability
Supermarket prices, promotions, pack sizes, stock and product information can change without notice. Grocely's results are estimates based on information available when a plan is generated. The price and product information shown by the supermarket at checkout or in store controls.
Grocely does not sell groceries, reserve stock, place orders or act as a supermarket. Any purchase you make is a separate transaction between you and the retailer under the retailer's terms.
Check the product, quantity, price and delivery or collection details before buying anything. Grocely is not responsible for a retailer's products, website, fulfilment, substitutions, refunds or conduct.
5. Premium subscriptions
Grocely features require a Premium subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. The price, billing period and any free trial or introductory offer are shown in the app before you buy. Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase and handles payment.
Unless the offer states otherwise, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. You can cancel in iPhone Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation stops the next renewal, but you normally keep access until the end of the current paid period. If you start a free or discounted trial and do not want it to renew, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. You can request a refund through Apple's report a problem service or Apple Support. Deleting your Grocely account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it separately in iPhone Settings.
6. Food allergies, nutrition and health
Grocely is a planning tool. It does not provide medical, nutritional or dietetic advice and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Grocely uses automated food classifications to try to exclude recipes that match foods you ask it to avoid. These classifications can be incomplete or wrong. Grocely does not verify supermarket products or cross-contamination risks. You must check ingredient lists, allergen warnings, packaging and preparation instructions yourself before buying, preparing or eating food.
Do not rely on Grocely to prevent an allergic reaction or manage a medical condition. If you have a serious allergy or medical dietary requirement, ask a qualified professional whether a product or meal is suitable. Seek emergency help if you think you are having a serious allergic reaction.
Nutrition figures are estimates. Actual values depend on the ingredients, brands, quantities, substitutions and preparation methods you use.
7. Your information and content
You keep any rights you have in information you enter, such as custom shopping-list items and dietary preferences. You give us permission to host, copy and process that information only as needed to operate, secure and improve Grocely and as described in our privacy policy. This permission ends when the information is deleted from our systems, subject to the retention terms in that policy.
Do not submit information that is unlawful, infringes another person's rights, contains malicious code, or is not yours to provide.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. It forms part of these terms but does not reduce any rights you have under data-protection law.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Grocely for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- interfere with the service, bypass security or access controls, or test its vulnerability without written permission;
- use automated methods to scrape, copy or place unreasonable load on Grocely;
- access another person's account or data without permission;
- introduce malware or other harmful code;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of Grocely except where these terms, an open-source licence or the law allows it; or
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where the law does not allow that restriction.
9. Our intellectual property
We and our licensors own Grocely, including its software, design, branding, text and original content. These terms do not transfer that ownership to you.
Subject to these terms and Apple's usage rules, you may use Grocely on Apple-branded devices that you own or control for personal and household purposes. Open-source components remain subject to their own licences.
The app is licensed through the App Store under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple's Standard EULA governs the app licence. These terms govern your Grocely account and the Grocely service. If the two conflict about the app licence, Apple's Standard EULA controls for that issue.
10. Third-party services
Grocely depends on services provided by Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, Resend, OpenRouter and the language-model providers it uses, supermarkets, and our hosting and network providers. Their services may have separate terms and privacy policies. You must follow any third-party terms that apply to your use of Grocely, including Apple's App Store terms.
Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners. Their appearance in Grocely does not mean they sponsor or endorse us.
11. Suspending or ending access
You may stop using Grocely at any time. You may also delete your account as described in section 2.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate a security issue, comply with law, protect users or third parties, or respond to a serious or repeated breach of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to correct the issue or contact us.
We may close the service. If we do, we will give reasonable notice where practical and provide a way to request your personal data before deletion, subject to law and our privacy policy.
Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will remain in effect. These include sections concerning ownership, liability, disputes and terms that arose before termination.
12. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable when you agreed to these terms or that results from information or instructions you supplied incorrectly.
Grocely is for personal and household use. We are not responsible for business losses, such as lost profit, revenue, opportunity or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing in these terms excludes your statutory consumer rights.
Apple is not responsible for operating, maintaining or supporting the Grocely service. Responsibility for claims about Grocely rests with us to the extent required by law and Apple's Standard EULA.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms to reflect changes to Grocely, our business or the law. We will post the revised terms with a new effective date. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes in the app or by another appropriate method.
Changes will apply from the stated effective date. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using Grocely and delete your account before it takes effect.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws that apply where you live.
The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or another country, you may bring a claim in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law.
Please contact us first at support@axiomstudios.org so we can try to resolve a concern.
15. General terms
If a court finds part of these terms unlawful or unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
If we do not enforce a term immediately, we may still enforce it later. A delay does not waive our rights.
You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms to another person. We may transfer this agreement as part of a reorganisation, financing, sale or transfer of Grocely, provided this does not reduce your rights. We will notify you if the transfer changes who provides the service.
These terms and the documents they refer to are the agreement between you and us about Grocely. They do not give rights to anyone else, except that Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce the app-licence terms as third-party beneficiaries under Apple's Standard EULA.
